Abandoned is a photo series that represents eight 35mm images that contain objects that have been left alone. This project first started with the theme of representing my life in the place I live right now in Scarborough, Ontario. However, as I travel around my place, I start to notice various objects that look like they were abandoned, and/or left out in the wild. This triggers me an idea to start a series that would highlight those “left out” objects that are lurking around my place in Scarborough.

What I want the audience to learn from this photo series is that abandoned objects can lead to many meanings, history, and stories. In this developing world of technology, we become too invested in looking at screens and not the surroundings around us. By searching and finding these objects in the wild, we can come up with different ideas and implications for these lost objects.

35mm, Nikon FM, chromogenic prints on 16 x 20 matte boards.
